The Renters Rights Act is now law, and if you let UK property while working at sea, three changes deserve your attention.
- Section 21 is gone. Possession now needs a ground — sale, moving in, or tenant fault.
- All tenancies are periodic. Fixed terms have been replaced by rolling tenancies with two months’ tenant notice.
- Rent reviews are annual. One increase per year, with a tribunal route for challenges.
For managed CrewFO landlords none of this requires action — your agent handles the paperwork — but self-managing crew should review notice templates now.
